Physiological ecology in a changing world

I am a scientist and educator studying symbioses and microbiomes in marine and terrestrial organisms. I apply energetics, stable isotope biogeochemistry, and DNA analyses to study how acute environmental stressors and long-term physiological legacies affect organismal performance, nutrient exchanges, and stress biology.

I am currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the lab of Dr. Jonathan Shurin at the University of California - San Diego, studying microbiome mediated adaptation to food quality in alpine lake zooplankton, a project funded by the National Science Foundation.
